Saving a configuration

To save a backup copy of adjusted configuration of a device to a binary file, there is a need to go to the page «SETUP» of a device web interface. In the section «Backup, Restore, Clone All Settings» click the button «Download»:

Saving a coniguration of the device NetPing

Afterward, a file with settings and the extension .bin appears on a local disk of a PC, for example, USS-001-125-ServerRoom-1_setup.bin (hostname of a device configured on the page «SETUP» of a web interface is substituted in the file name before the underscore).

Restoring a configuration

To upload a backup copy of an adjusted configuration from a binary file to a device, there is a need to go to the page «SETUP» of a device web interface. In the section «Backup, Restore, Clone All Settings» click the button «Upload»:

Restoring a configuration of the NetPing device

Afterward, there is a need to choose a necessary file of the format .bin to upload a configuration. A successful upload is followed by displaying the status «Uploading of settings completed successfully» with a consequent reboot of a device:

When uploading a binary file of a configuration, the next parameters are not restored:

  • Hostname;
  • IP address;
  • Subnet mask;
  • Gateway;
  • HTTP server port

These parameters are necessary to be configured always manually.

Before uploading of a configuration to EEPROM, it is automatically checked if «donor» and «acceptor» settings are identical. If the «donor» version is not suitable, uploading is not performed. Instead, an error notification is displayed: «Image of settings is not compatible!».
