It is possible to configure addresses for testing the availability of the network nodes via IP address or a DNS name in the fields «Address #1 to ping», «Address #2 to ping» and the polling period in the field «Polling Period, s (30-9999)» in the section «Pinger» on the page «SMS»:

Parameters of the operation of the module «Pinger» on the page «SMS» are as follows:

1. Polling a specified IP address or a DNS name is started once in a specified period of time (a parameter «Polling Period, s (30-9999)»);
2. A period of waiting for a response from an IP address or a DNS name is 2 seconds;
3. The amount of repeats of polling an IP address or a DNS name is 8;
4. If there is no response from a tested node during 8 repeats, «Pinger» notifies that there is no connection with the specified IP address or a DNS name;
5. If during the next polling period there will be a response from a tested node, «Pinger» notifies that there is a connection with the specified IP address or a DNS name
