[ENG] 2.6. [DKSF 52/202.10 IU] Where to Find the Hostname, Location and Contact of a Device?
The name of a device, location, and contact information can be found on the home page of a device web interface:
Hostname – is a domain name of a device. It allows distinguishing between several NetPing devices of the same type by their hostnames. A hostname is displayed on the homepage and in the heading of a web interface, it is sent in notifications and available via SNMP.
Location – a description of the installation place of a NetPing device. It is displayed on the homepage and in the heading of a web interface, and is available via SNMP.
Contact – is the contact data (usually an e-mail) of an administrator. It is displayed on the home page and is available via SNMP.
All three variables can be set (changed) on the web-interface SETUP page.
For more advanced users, the basic access option is using the SNMP v1 protocol by reading the corresponding OID using the command Get:
